Fast and effective solution delivered for raw seawater storage

With a proven track record in supplying water solutions to the public and private sector and numerous corrosion installations close to the sea, SBS Tanks was appointed by the main contractor Quality Filtration Systems (QFS) to supply the tank, the platform and structural design of the founding structures.

Less than 20 days after the order was received the 1 million litre SBS Tanks ST21/06 was ready for delivery. The modular nature of the tank meant the various components could be transferred to a smaller vehicle for delivery to the remote, difficult-to-access site. Installation was completed with the tank ready for commissioning in five and half days later.

The plant was officially opened, on 19 December, by the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Lindiwe Sisulu.

The installation team began erection of the 1ML tank as soon as it was delivered to the remote site, proving undeterred by the challenges of moving the components to the limited access spot 400m from the seashore
