The SBS Group, known for the SBS Tanks and SBS Agri brands, earlier this year launched SBS Energy. The new division completes the group’s sustainability circle allowing SBS to provide water, food and now energy security to businesses, institutions and organisations and government authorities across South Africa.
Headed up by Managing Director, Bruce Polkinghorne, who brings his knowledge and experience in the solar and commercial sector to the team, SBS Energy puts the power back into business owners’ hands.
“SBS Energy brings to market the latest in renewable technologies, providing clients with integrated monitoring and data solutions,” says Polkinghorne. “Understanding the commercial viability of a solar project is essential for developing a blueprint for reliable business sustainability.”
SBS Energy has developed a platform that allows clients to quickly ascertain the financial and environmental impact of a solar implementation, allowing for informed decision making.
Polkinghorne, who is adept at developing business practices to best suit operational environments, is passionate about exploring systems and technologies that streamline business practices and processes with a practical approach.
“I believe that real-time relevant information is the key to effectively managing and streamlining operations and processes. Both live and historic data, displayed visually affords managers and executives a “bird’s eye view” of the effectiveness and commercial impact of improved energy management and solar production,” Polkinghorne says.
“SBS has an in-depth understanding of the extreme importance of energy and water security for business continuity, as well as a legacy of over 24 years of project management experience in the commercial, property, mining, industrial, manufacturing and agricultural sectors. As such, SBS Energy is ideally positioned to design a viable and sustainable energy solution for businesses.”
